Department Of Journalism and Mass Communication
The department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Rishi Bankim Chandra College for Women started its journey in the year 2008. In the initial years Journalism and Mass Communication was offered as an Arts-General subject only. After continuing for 9 years, ultimately in 2017 Journalism and Mass Communication Honours Course was introduced in the college under West Bengal State University. At present both the Honours and General Courses are running successfully with well equipped lab and ICT teaching facilities. Teachers maintain a friendly teaching-learning atmosphere in the class, which helps students to communicate with their queries and clear their doubts easily. Students have also secured satisfactory marks in University Examinations all over the years both in 1+1+1 system as well as in CBCS pattern. The department has its own departmental library cum reading room to provide students an academic environment apart from routine based classes.
