Department Of Geography
In the year 1964, the Department of Geography was started in morning section of undivided R.B.C.College , with a floor space of 48 sq. metres under Prof.Anjali Sanyal with Pass course and P.U. In 1988, after the trifurcation of the college the Department of Geography remained with R.B.C. College for Women (Morning). In 1995, Honours in Geography was introduced with 10 sanctioned seats. In 1998, 1st batch of Geography Honours passed out with very good result. In 2002, Dr.Sudakshina Ray joined as full time lecturer and Prof.Soumitra Das also joined as part time lecturer. In 2005, Dr.Samapti Dhara and Moumita Biswas joined the department as full time lecturers. In 2015, the whole department shifted from the old campus to the new campus. Presently the department has a floor space of approximately 84 sq.m.

Department Of Education
The Department of Education of Rishi Bankim Chandra College For Women started its journey with as General Course from the beginning and as the Hons. Course it started from 2017-2018 Academic Session. The aim and motto of the department is about preparing students for the future within a success-oriented learning environment. This department consists of five faculties. Till now, the students of four batches have been passed out with Hons. course successfully and enrolled in various universities for higher studies. The report of the rate of success in Hons. course of this department in all previous sessions is 100 %. It has own departmental library with small volume of text and reference books and also provides library facilities to the students. The Department arranges the remedial and tutorial classes for students. The faculties are students-friendly and assist students in their learning carefully. Department is organizing the Add-on certificate Course on “Basic ICT and Computer Applications”. Department organizes Educational Tours un each academic session.
