About

The Department of English is one of the longest-standing departments of the institution. Since the trifurcation and the birth of Rishi Bankim Chandra College for Women as an independent academic institution, the Department of English was up and running from 1984, albeit it offered only general courses then. The honours course was initiated from the year 2000 onwards. Since then it is running successfully till date. The student inflow has been steady and remarkable for years and the results have been satisfactory.
