About
The Department of History was started in 1984 , after the trifurcation of the mother institute Rishi Bankim Chandra College with more or less 300-400 students (B.A .General). History (Honours) was introduced at this College under the University of Calcutta in the year of 2001. Till now the General as well as Honours subjects are continuing under the West Bengal State University. The Central and Departmental Library holds a good collection of Reference and Text Books for the students.
